Emailed tasks automatically parses out tags, projects, due dates, etc.
When emailing a task to account, we can code our subject line to include tags, projects, due dates that the system automatically recognizes and parses out. For example, "Get TPS report from John @Office #BigProject !nextweek" would create a task "Get TPS report..." with tag "@Office", for Project "BigProject, and due the following week.

currently you can't specify a project only area/focus/tag, but if you add the idea on our ideas board you will be notified when we add this functionality:

how can you automatically direct the email to a project?
-
Yes currently we do not support assigning a task through email but this is something we are looking to add. We are not sure the best way to implement this, using someone's email address or the name they entered in to the system?

I don't see anyway to assign to a task... is that right?

This is our first stab at this so if you have suggestions for improvement let us know!

This is now possible in Get It Done:

This is definitely absolutely needed. Without this you are not even a contender. As someone re-evaluating GTD apps, this is causing me to pass on GID. So lost sale based on this one feature.

This would greatly speed up task sorting.
Tag parsing should also work in the quick add field on the web app and the iphone app -
