Improvement suggestion for GID app
Hi,
There are probably many like me who come up with ideas at times when it is impossible to enter the task via a keypad. I suggest you add a link so that you can quickly capture a task into the Inbox via a voice-to-text entry. This should be easy to do in Android and IoS even if this becomes a device specific app feature. Example: I get a zillion random ideas I would like to capture when I am driving. I would love an easy way to capture those thoughts into GID for later processing. In my opinion. this…

Incoming Email Rules
If I set up my work Email to automatically forward to GID, I can't add @fucus #project %tag in the subject line to have the eamils go to a specific focus or project or add tags. It would be very useful to have the ability to add rules to incoming emails that will direct them based on sender, email account, or ?? to a specific @focus or #project or to %tag them.
BTW in the last two days I had to un-vote for two other peoples brilliant suggestions as I could not add yesterday's or today's suggestions without un-voting something.

Ability to have multi line task comments and to edit or delete task comments
Currently creating a comment and pressing enter will post the comment. It would be better to have a dedicated Post button and allow the enter key to be a line return allowing for multi line comments.
This is annoying because if you did what I just did, thinking I could create a multi line comment, I started with "We have:" with the intention of adding a list. Now I have a comment with just "We Have:" and I can't edit or delete it.
Add the ability to edit task comments.

Cleanup the GID Email into GID Email Address
"Get It Done"gid+xxxxxxxxxxxxx@gid.email
This would be better as
as not all email tools understand the ["Get It Done"< >] bits and flake out.
Better still would be to change to the simpler
as the "gid+" is redundant since the domain is @gid.email. Additionally the "+" may cause difficulties with some email tools.
Just a note: I had to unvote for something else useful to post this.

Option to display selected task using full screen (comment on app version 5.16 )
One of the great things bout the old app was that when you selected a task , it took over the whole screen.
I found this really helpful for not getting distracted by the remaining huge list of tasks.
The new app has some features in it that make it much harder to focus :
- task slides out and covers part of the screen - so I find my brain scanning half sentences/distracted by trying to make sense of other partially visible tasks as well the task highlighted

Open Evernote Note in Evernote App
In the Android App for V5 if you have a task with an attached Evernote note, if you open it to edit the note, it opens Evernote in the browser and not the Android App. Please enable it to open it in the Evernote app if present.

Cross Link Evernote Notebooks and Tags and with GetItDoneApp Areas of Interest, Projects and Tags
It would be nice to be able to sync GetItDone Areas, Projects, and Tags with those of Evernote (bidrectionally) and use this in the Smart Groups of GetItDoneApp.

make it possible to move a project from one company to another.
Sometimes one company starts a project but sells it/hands it over to somebody else. In this case it would be practical to also be able to move the already made plan together with everything else.

Make "projects" optional.
I manage everything through "smart groups"--having the gray empty projects icon on each task takes up space. It would be great to be able to hide projects.

Add to v5: day of week option for monthly and yearly repeating tasks
In v4, there were options in monthly and yearly repeating tasks to repeat on, for example, the third Wednesday of each month, or on the last day of the month.
I don't see such an option in v5, and would like to able to use that option.

I would like Smart Groups & Projects to be Children of Areas by default
When an Area has been selected, anything created within that Area should belong to that Area. It's confusing to create a Smart Group or Task while within an Area and then have to go an extra step to associate it with the Area you are already in. If someone wants to create a task that is not associated with a specific Area then all they would have to do is create it when they are in the All Areas view.
