Drag and drop tasks
Be able to drag and drop tasks from one area of focus to another (e.g., to move from scheduled to next)
2 votesHi Aimee,
You should be able to drag and drop tasks from the web app into the focus area. If you cannot do this, please contact us at getitdone@marcucio.freshdesk.com so that we can help you. Thanks.

tag button on tasks in list
There is a button on every task in any task list that says "no project". Will there be the same function for tags like in the old GID app? Right now, tag assignment directly from the list without opening the task is only available if the task is already tagged. I really would like to see the button "no tag"
3 votesHi Philip,
Just click on the gray # in the task list, and the Tag selector should pop up. This is only available in the web version. The other apps will get it in the next update.
Thanks for the feedback. Enjoy!

You can already do this in the new app. Just filter your list to show just completed (click the button in the top right corner of the app until it says completed), then use the Print option in your web browser.

Import list of tasks on new version of app
There are a list of tasks that are required when hiring new employees so the ability to simply import a list of tasks would be extremely helpful.
3 votesHi there!
You can now do this using the steps here:

Have 'Reference' as an extra 'Area of Focus' i.e. Today/Next/Scheduled/Someday/Reference
It would be useful to have 'Reference' as an extra Area of Focus. Not quite David Allen, but reference items are handy to have within the app (eg contact details/noteable dates/etc) Even though you can tag them as reference, they do still get lost amongst the real 'next action someday' items. It is easier now that you can sort tasks, but a separate reference area of focus would work better.
3 votesHi Alison,
Thank you for your feedback. I wanted to explain our stance before closing the feedback.
There is a way for you to create a custom Focus Areas. See here for details:
https://marcucio.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/25000006698-how-do-i-create-a-custom-focus-area-i-e-waiting-for-folder-We are hesitant to add extra Focus Areas since we’d like to stay true to David Allen’s methodology. Since we keep our apps very simple and flexible, our users actually told us of this workaround. :)
I hope you can understand our stance. Thanks again for your idea and keep the feedback coming!

I would like to be able to email a specific task with its notes to an individual.
I manage a lot of different people and projects. I need to be able to email a task and it's notes to a specific individual. I do not see where that is available to share by email other than sharing the whole page. Not all of the individuals that I deal with have get it done nor what I want to set them up to share. This would be a tremendous tool for delegation and management.
3 votesWe just added this to the web app yesterday and it should make it to the native apps very soon. You can email an entire list by going to “Import/Export → Email task list…” or an individual task by opening the task then “More → Email task…”.

Purge old items in these suggestions
In going thru these suggestions, when I see ones posted in 2011, I question if they are still valid or not. Some have over 200 votes. This really needs to be purged of old, irrelevant, or completed items.
1 voteHi B,
Our product planning team is on this right now!
Originally, we wanted to keep all feedback alive FOREVER but we realize now that we need to keep the numbers low in order to keep productive. Hence, we are spring cleaning… right now. Thanks for your feedback! Keep them coming!

Way to delete completed tasks
Implementation of a way to delete completed tasks
12 votesIn the latest version 5.23.0 we added option to move completed items to the trash and also an option to empty trash. Just click on the 3 dots in the bottom right corner of the app.

Keyboard shortcuts - hitting return key when editing a task should save it
if poss, it shouldn't be necessary to use the mouse to quickly edit and save a task
3 votesThanks for the report, this will be in the next build of the app.

Remove ' there are no active tasks in this list' warning - just clutters up the screen
Compared to the old app the screen is much more cluttered with words and icons which makes it much harder and slower to read quickly.
When a project has no tasks in a certain focus (today/in/next etc) then this warning appears multiple times - once in each focus section.
This really drains cognitive function :(
The odd app was nice and simple - if there was nothing there , there was nothing there :)12 votesHi everyone!
This “there are no active tasks…” warning is now removed from Project view. Just refresh your browser. This will be rolled out to the mobile apps in a few weeks.
Thanks again for your feedback and keep them coming!

Repeating Tasks with Subtasks
Need to have feature of subtasks repeating when the main task repeats and that the subtasks remain under the main task instead of repeating as a main task.
3 votesWe pushed a fix for this today. It should work for you tomorrow morning.
Thanks for the report!

If you move a task to a different Area and delete the original Project, the task vanishes
I created a new Project assuming that it would be automatically be linked with the Specific Area I was already in. When I went to review the Task created in that Project it was not where I thought it would be. Because new Projects default to the first Area on your list of Areas, if you forget to change that selection, all new Tasks will end up in that Area. The fix seems simple... I assumed I could just edit the Project so that it would be under the correct Area, but the only options are Change Name, Archive or…

Lett column
it is useful that the left column is wider in order to better read the name of the projects. Otherwise with too long names is not easy to read.
1 voteHi Alessandro!
Thank you for submitting this feedback. We’ve widen the left navigation bar. There are two sizes now (small and large). If we detect a larger screen space, we will use the larger navigation bar.
Just refresh your browser and give it a go. Let us know if this is still an issue for you or if you need something different.
Thanks again for your feedback and keep them coming!

enable the simple printing of a Note.
One has to "cut and paste" the contents of a note to somewhere (like Word) that is printable. Why not just be able to "print" on a right click??

make a function for "Adding attachments (pics and files)" to Android App
Since I use the whiteboard a lot during meetings I think it would be great if there was a function for adding pictures/attachments directly from the GID-app for Android - just as you can do in the web app.
Today you first have to take a Picture, then create a task and then via the web app add the Picture to the task (you could also email the pic to your uniqe GID-adress).
3 votesWe added support for photos in the new app. You can take photos right from the app on your computer or mobile device and attach then to your tasks. If you are not yet on the new version here is how to get on it:
